Position Summary:
The Lead Outreach & Engagement Manager at Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Houston is responsible for establishing and maintaining robust community partnerships, driving volunteer recruitment initiatives, and the training of new hires. This role also involves expanding the intern program through the development of university partnerships, enhancing recruitment strategies, and providing meaningful, skills-based experiences. Additionally, the manager optimizes inquiry delegation, refines engagement call scripts, and strengthens talent pipelines through strategic outreach..
Essential Functions, Responsibilities, and Activities:
Strategy Execution
In collaboration with the Director of Recruitment, cultivate, manage and sustain partnerships with individuals and mentor-rich organization to achieve set goals and timelines for all volunteer mentor recruitment needs of BBBS Houston and develop strategies to ensure volunteer recruitment efforts align with the established timeline for achieving annual new match goals
Database & Queue Management
Promptly and accurately begin the volunteer recruitment cadence for potential volunteers within prescribed timelines.
Develop and implement strategies to efficiently manage incoming inquiries.
Monitor inquiry trends to identify common questions and areas for process improvement.
Delegate inquiries to appropriate team members based on expertise, workload, and urgency.
Internship Program
• Grow the intern program by identifying new opportunities, establishing partnerships with colleges, and coordinating outreach efforts.
• Manage intern recruitment, training, and development, and provide regular feedback and support. Script Development & Adaptation for Engagement Calls
• Create, update, and refine call scripts to align with recruitment goals and audience demographics.
• Analyze call performance metrics and make data-driven adjustments.
• Gather team feedback to improve script effectiveness and engagement. • Tailor scripts for different recruitment segments to ensure personalized and compelling communication
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in sales, public relations, marketing, client management, and/or recruitment; 2 to 3 years preferred
Must be a skilled presenter; with a strong ability to share BBBS’s mission, and motivate individuals to take action by becoming volunteers
Must be goal driven, organized, and customer-service minded
Demonstrated experience working with multiple clients at one time
Demonstrated track record of meeting goals and objectives
Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Availability and flexibility to accommodate early weekday morning and evening hours and weekend hours, as well as travel to varying local venues
Willingness to work within culturally diverse environments
