Help Empower Houston’s Tomorrow Through Mentorship

Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Houston is seeking a Program Intern to support the mentor2.0 team and help youth and volunteers successfully move through the enrollment process. This internship offers hands-on experience in youth services, program administration, volunteer support, and nonprofit programming.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist the program team with completing youth assessments and enrollment requirements.
  • Review youth interviews, parent permission forms, surveys, and iMentor applications.
  • Assist with completing and submitting Youth Outcomes Surveys (YOS).
  • Track completed youth interviews, assessments, and youth who are ready to be matched.
  • Support volunteers in completing required background clearance steps.
  • Collaborate with the mentor2.0 Coordinator and Partnership Specialists to support safe and efficient enrollment.

Qualifications

  • Ideal for students majoring in social or human services, education, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and research skills.
  • Customer service and people-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage administrative tasks and maintain accurate records.

  • One internship position available.
  • Opportunity to gain experience in youth programming, volunteer engagement, and nonprofit administration.
  • Based with Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Houston at 1003 Washington Ave., Houston, TX 77002.
  • Supervised by Janica Alston, mentor2.0 Coordinator.
